Connect your assistant
Connect to the read-only public SEC research service. No service account, login, or API key required.
https://filings.inkforge.dev/mcpCopy this URL into a compatible assistant’s custom MCP connection. Select No authentication. You do not need an account or API key for this service. Your assistant provider’s own access and workspace rules still apply.
- ClaudeOpen Customize > Connectors and add a custom connector using the endpoint above. Choose “No sign-in” if prompted and leave credentials blank. See Claude’s custom connector instructions. Availability depends on your plan and workspace settings.
- ChatGPTOn the web, open Plugins, select the plus button, then “Add custom MCP server.” Enter the endpoint as the Server URL, choose no authentication, review the connection notice, and create and install the resulting plugin. See OpenAI’s custom MCP setup guide. Workspace permissions can limit this feature.
- Run a focused research requestSelect the connection in your conversation and ask for a company, filing, or reported metric. Check the returned SEC sources before relying on the answer.
Try a research question
“Look up Microsoft and show its CIK.”
“List Apple’s 10-K filings from 2023 through 2025, with source links.”
“Find the available revenue concepts for Microsoft, then show the reported facts and units.”
What the connection can do
- Company lookupResolve company names, tickers, and CIK identifiers.
- Filing discoveryFilter company filing metadata by form, date, and metadata text.
- Section retrievalRead supported sections from a specific filing.
- Concept discoveryFind available XBRL concepts and taxonomies.
- Reported factsInspect a concept’s values, units, and dates.
- Company comparisonCompare supported metrics for a stated period and unit.
- Insider disclosuresInspect recent Form 4 filings and their transaction records; the limit counts filings.
A research aid, with limits. This is not full-text filing search, a live market feed, or investment advice. Results are bounded and may require additional pages. Extraction can be incomplete, and reported facts may differ by taxonomy, fiscal calendar, unit, or amendment.
How requests work
Your assistant sends only the arguments needed for a selected tool. The server retrieves public SEC records and structures the result. It makes no LLM calls; analysis and generated answers come from your assistant provider. Read the privacy policy before connecting.
